#FBF – NYFW: Taoray Wang Review

Hey darlings,

Now that New York Fashion Week is over, I can now relax and BREATHE!  It was SUCH an exciting week filled with great experiences and amazing opportunities!  As promised, I want to give you a detailed description of what designer Taoray Wang presented at her Fall/Winter ’15 Collection.  After making her New York Fashion Week debut last season, one could only expect Taoray Wang to deliver an impeccable daring collection for her second roundup with New York Fashion Week. And she did. Not a surprise to me.  However, the newbies should keep an eye out for this woman who demands the attention of the world. Overall, with an eye for the modern woman, Taoray Wang once again captured the essence of a woman’s femininity.  Touching on the versatility of classic colors of heather grey,  summer navy, and heavy blacks, her clothes were presented with flattering silhouettes, consisting of various cloth materials for every woman to stay warm this fall/winter. Her clever polka dot ensembles showed her ability to dress the daring woman who wants to have fun but maintain her chic-ness. Without a doubt, the chunky shoes, presenting comfortability, and the ankle booties with a shot of a fresh blue amongst the classic black, struck the runway with a fierceness like none the other.  The textured collars, long drapey dresses, and embroidered flower wovens stamped her jaw-dropping signature throughout her entire collection.  Lest not forget the modern-girl-gone-edgy biker leather jackets and staple wool coats at every length can surely boost a girl’s confidence both on the street and in the office.  I was amazed once again at Taoray Wang’s creativity and daring looks; I already have check list of what I will be purchasing. Honestly, every girl needs an item in their closet from Taoray Wang’s Fall/Winter collection.  And I won’t say I told you so.

See below for pictures from the runway as well as a short video clip from my Instagram account giving you a peek from the finale!

Bridal Shower Edition

IMG_0578

Hey darlings! I hope you all have been staying warm as the weather has been changing (ughhhhhh).  This past weekend, I had a marvelous time in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands which was incredibly beautiful.  Oh, my best friend got married on Saturday! And yes, it was a destination wedding!  I’ll be sharing some of the pics from my mini vacation over the next few posts, but for now I’ll be catching you up on some other things.

To start, during Labor Day Weekend, my best friend had her bridal shower back home in St. Louis which was amazing.  And of course, I didn’t have anything appropriate for the occasion, so I called my good friend Hannah for an emergency attire suggestion in which this beautiful dress surfaced.  I actually thought I was going to be overdressed, but hey I rather be overdressed than underdressed (Fashion Rule #2).  Because of this knockout color, simple shoes could only bring the entire look together.  And because of the rich orange and we were going into Fall, I thought brown was a suitable color (I’m actually not too fond of the color brown, but it worked here!)  Take a look and be inspired 🙂Bridal Shower Edition

A Vengeance Look: Making A Comeback from A Bad Week

Hey darlings!

Soooo it’s been about a week since I lasted posted something – last week wasn’t a good week at all. The devil almost had me. But, I decided to press my way to church on Sunday with a vengeance to defeat the devil and praise God anyways! It was hard and it took all of my strength to do so, but I did it. I’ll write about last week in a later post but for now, you can check out my “vengeance look”.

I decided to wear my leopard print dress that I bought from an online boutique a couple of years ago in which I haven’t worn this year at all. Normally, I just wear it by itself but this time I wore a black belt with it that ties in the front. I actually got this belt from this accessories showroom I used to work for back in 2011 – for FREE! And of course, it was freezing on Sunday, so I went for an overall classy look wearing this black and gray reversible shawl that my mom bought for me for Christmas a couple of years ago! And I did say I had a bad week right?? So I was in no mood to be fooling with my hair, so I wore a sleek chic and effortless low bun with a side part. My hair is naturally curly so when I gel it down, it comes out wavy. Hey hey hey now!! Lol! Well, to complete this fall look, only a berry lip and velvet pumps could do it justice. And justice and vengeance was mine.

So my dears, I encourage you to pick yourself up, dress yourself to the TEE, and come back with a vengeance if you had a bad week! That’s what I did! Sure, you may be fatigued and beaten from last week, but find that strength you have and defeat the devil and make it a great week!

Be inspired 😉

New York: Floral Chic

Oh New York. New York.

I have a love/hate relationship with you. Sometimes you drive me crazy being stuck underground on the subway train for more than 15 minutes. Sometimes you make me mad when I forget to move my car to the other side of the street by 10 minutes and I find a parking ticket given by the NYPD undeservingly. No mercy. But, then I love you so much because of the eclectic people here and I learn so much from the different cultures. And I also love you so dearly for giving me so much inspiration in this fashion capital.

Oh New York. New York.

Today’s outfit was inspired by my love/hate relationship with New York City (if you live here, then you know what I mean). The concrete jungle. Instead of being too fancy with this multi-floral skirt, I decided to pair it up with this dope sweatshirt (I love the quilted padded look on the sleeves). And of course, I paired it up with my favorite beat down boots (bury me in these please!). This entire attire is quite chic and comfy with a subtle glam. Really, anyone can try this, it’s not just for the young. Be inspired.

Brick Casual: What I Wore In My Last Post

IMG_1606.JPG
Hey darlings, here’s a full shot of what I wore in my last post! Fall is a very funny time of the year, at least weather wise, but I’m learning to embrace it. You know how it’s freezing in the morning but then warm during the day? Yeaaaaaaaaa that’s what I can’t deal with: weather bipolarism!! Lol. But, in this look, I decided to add a vintage accessory to add some edge to the basic tee and trousers: a vintage scarf! It actually belongs to my mother (don’t tell her I got it, but shoot she follows my blog so I’m screwed now anyways lol)! However, even if your style isn’t vintage, a scarf is always a great accessory to dress up or down your look. So be inspired and try it out! Good day!
