Doing Something Luxuriously Different

I just literally just got off the phone with my best friend and we had a great thought-provoking conversation concerning my future.  I’m really grateful to have a friend who truly supports me through it all.  But, she posed a question that stirred my spirit asking me, “What are you going to do differently this time?”.  What am I going to do differently this time around pursing my career?  As the saying goes, do the same thing and you’ll get the same results; do something different and you’ll get different results.

Well, making it in NYC isn’t the easiest task, to say the least.  It’s like a secret love/hate relationship.  You love it here so much but it’s so hard trying to make it which I hate.  The struggle.  New York is the hardest place to live, in my opinion, in which I believe others would agree.  As they say, “If you can make it in NYC, you can make it anywhere.”  I’m almost certain that I can make it in all the other 49 states of America.  But, New York though?  I think I’m being tested from all angles.  If people only knew what I’ve been through just to live here!

Survival of the Fittest + The Concrete Jungle = New York City.

Sometimes I think I’m crazy for trying to pursue my dreams in NYC. And sometimes, I start to believe it. Lol.

No, seriously.

But, what am I going to do differently this time?  I don’t want the same results; I need to bear fruit.

Hmmmm.

You know what?  I know what I’m going to do this time.  I’m going to do what’s out of my comfort zone.  Whatever I was afraid of, I’m going to attack it and do it.  THAT’s what I’m going to do differently. There are so many things that I want to do but there are minor hurdles along the way that stretches me,  but I don’t want to overcome them because they’re out of MY comfort zone.

At this point in my life,  I’m left with no choice but to do something differently to get different results.  And the way to do that is to do everything that’s out of my comfort zone.

So, what are you doing to do differently?

Getting Out of Your Comfort Zone

A Reminder For Me

WALKING IN FAITHIt was faith that brought Isaac into Abraham’s arms.

Faith that kept Peter up when he walked on water.

Faith that helped Moses lead the Israelites across the Red Sea.

Faith that healed the blind man calling out to Jesus and faith that restored the health of the bleeding women.

Faith that caused the walls of Jericho to fall and the sun to stand still.

Faith that got Joseph through many years of waiting in the dungeon and David through many years of hiding in the desert.

Faith is such a beautiful thing.

In Hebrews it is defined as “being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see”.

It’s having confidence that God will come through for us even when nothing in our life gives us reason to prove that He will.

It’s believing that He will answer your prayer for a…

My Response to a GroupMe message

A few weeks ago, I responded to a GroupMe message with my friends that I hope helped all of us in the group.

Today, I read it over again.  Maybe it can help you.  Maybe me again.

Differently which means something gotta give at some point. I think we all wonder “well how am I gonna do this? How am I going to pay my bills? How am I going to eat?” But the truth of the matter is we don’t know the “how”; we’re just going to have to DO something. We will DIE staying in the same position for the rest of the year, etc. I’ve learned that sometimes God will allow all the frustrations, breakdowns, and havoc to take place to get us to MOVE – we have no other choice but to bc we can’t take it anymore – He wants us to get to a place where we HAVE to say “Eff it, I can’t take it anymore, I’m taking this leap of faith and I’m doing SOMETHING so God you’re going to have to do something”…think about it, we’re all waiting for the perfect conditions to quit our jobs or do whatever but the truth is the conditions will NEVER be perfect, God don’t work like that. Make a move and watch God move. Y’all came here with faith so continue with faith. This ain’t for the faint, so keep it moving. Also, we have to set goals and KEEP them. You’re going to have to set deadlines like for ex. By Aug. 5, I’m quitting my job so now up until then you will be forced to find something (it’s just an ex). Do you think quitting my job was easy…Nah son. But, change was needed.
