#FBF – NYFW: Taoray Wang Review

Hey darlings,

Now that New York Fashion Week is over, I can now relax and BREATHE!  It was SUCH an exciting week filled with great experiences and amazing opportunities!  As promised, I want to give you a detailed description of what designer Taoray Wang presented at her Fall/Winter ’15 Collection.  After making her New York Fashion Week debut last season, one could only expect Taoray Wang to deliver an impeccable daring collection for her second roundup with New York Fashion Week. And she did. Not a surprise to me.  However, the newbies should keep an eye out for this woman who demands the attention of the world. Overall, with an eye for the modern woman, Taoray Wang once again captured the essence of a woman’s femininity.  Touching on the versatility of classic colors of heather grey,  summer navy, and heavy blacks, her clothes were presented with flattering silhouettes, consisting of various cloth materials for every woman to stay warm this fall/winter. Her clever polka dot ensembles showed her ability to dress the daring woman who wants to have fun but maintain her chic-ness. Without a doubt, the chunky shoes, presenting comfortability, and the ankle booties with a shot of a fresh blue amongst the classic black, struck the runway with a fierceness like none the other.  The textured collars, long drapey dresses, and embroidered flower wovens stamped her jaw-dropping signature throughout her entire collection.  Lest not forget the modern-girl-gone-edgy biker leather jackets and staple wool coats at every length can surely boost a girl’s confidence both on the street and in the office.  I was amazed once again at Taoray Wang’s creativity and daring looks; I already have check list of what I will be purchasing. Honestly, every girl needs an item in their closet from Taoray Wang’s Fall/Winter collection.  And I won’t say I told you so.

See below for pictures from the runway as well as a short video clip from my Instagram account giving you a peek from the finale!

Showroom Silliness – New Beginnings!

Hi darlings,

I hope your day has been well. Today, I spent the afternoon interviewing two AMAZING designers that I believe you will love and connect to once you hear their testimonies! I’m so excited to present a new segment: AMOL (pronounced a-mole) Designer Interviews which will interview prominent designers EXCLUSIVELY giving you first-hand dibs on their collections and their personal testimonies on embracing their God-given selves to being models of life to inspire others.  My desire with this segment is to expose the world of fashion to you all and establish a connection between the designers and  the people in hopes to encourage and inspire YOU to be your God-given authentic selves. This segment will also provide fun stuff including FREE GIVEAWAYS- I’m so pleased to announced, so keep a lookout on those! In essence, this is a new year, new year to do bigger and better things to change the world. And this is segment is only the beginning! Be inspired!

*Oh, and I was just being silly in the showroom today – you’ll find out who’s showroom soon, so stay tuned ;)*

Embracing God’s Love – A Model’s Understanding

Life sometimes will throw you curves and you won’t know why. But, it’s important to understand who you are – a child of God. You were created uniquely by God with His foundation of love. And everything that God makes is wonderful; therefore you are wonderful. Today, if you’re feeling lost, alone, frustrated, or unloved, negate those feelings immediately and know that you are loved by the Most High. Nothing can separate you from the love of God through Christ. When I sought love through a man and was rejected, God still loved me. When family members belittled me and verbally attacked me, God still loved me. When the kids at school made fun of my speech, God still loved me. When I was broke and lost with nowhere to go, God still loved me. And when I didn’t love myself, God still loved me. So take heart on this day and embrace God’s love.

AMOL Spotlight: Little Black Girls at New York Fashion Week

IMG_0649
By far, this photo is my FAVORITE photo from New York FashionWeek! I love it because these little girls experienced one of the most coveted places to be and at seven years old, a whole new world was opened unto them. It’s also phenomenal because there was a time where attending NYFW shows was just a dream for black people and sharing this moment with these beautiful little black girls was an awesome feeling! After the show, we (along with my friend Hannah whose daughter is on the left) went backstage for the girls to hang out with the models, get makeup done, and take lots of pictures. In fact, the photographers took more pics of them than me!! Lol!!! They stole the show!! I love when little black girls are exposed to the limitless possibilities of this world and dare to dream bigger! Be inspired;)
